For those without or with limited ability to use hands or fingers, eye tracking is probably the quickest, easiest and most comfortable way to operate a computer.
Classic Tobii Gaze Interaction Software, together with a compatible eye tracker, allows you to operate your computer using only your eyes (or with the combination of eyes and a switch) – and to enjoy benefits like greater personal independence, the ability to stay socially connected and much more.
Classic Tobii Gaze Interaction Software with first generation Windows Control consists of Mouse Emulation, which allows you to control the traditional mouse cursor with your gaze, as well as the award winning Gaze Selection, which gives you relaxed and ergonomic computer access.
You need an eye tracker to operate Classic Tobii Gaze Interaction Software, read about compatible eye trackers in Specifications. Tobii Dynavox eye trackers can be operated with precision, regardless of glasses, contact lenses, eye color or light conditions. With the eye tracker and this software you get access to your computer, the Internet and ultimately a richer and more independent life.
Gaze Selection lets you control your desktop, or any other application, through a simple, two-step process that reduces the risk of unwanted clicks. First, select the desired task you want to perform, for example a double click. Then, look at the desired area or icon on the screen where you want to execute the task. Learn more about Gaze Selection by clicking on the tab above.

Microsoft Windows 10 comes with many new features, like the Cortana personal digital assistant, the new web browser Edge and touch-optimized Windows Office apps. All elements in Windows 10 are designed for touch input and are suitable for eye control, making them accessible for you. Classic Tobii Gaze Interaction Software is available for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.
If you have the ability to use a switch, e.g. a buddy button, you can combine eye tracking with a switch to control your computer in an even more precise and relaxed way.
Mouse Emulation is one of the components in Classic Tobii Gaze Interaction Software. It gives you full control of your mouse pointer, just like you would have with a physical mouse input device. You can left click, right click, double click, zoom, scroll and much more.
Mouse Emulation is ideal for emergent (sensory) to advanced Windows usage and for software that teaches the usage of eye gaze.
With a little practice you can achieve as high precision as with any other mouse pointer device.
Gaze Selection makes it possible to control your desktop, or any other application, through a simple, two-step process that reduces the risk of unwanted clicks. Central to Gaze Selection are the taskbar and the windows overlay. The task bar is the area on the screen that holds all of the functions that you can perform, such as left click, right click, activating the keyboard and so on. Using the task bar is a quick, two-step process that makes for very accurate and relaxed computer access.
You also use the taskbar to bring up the functions overlay, which gives you access to Windows specific commands such as the Cortana button, notifications, app switcher, settings and other functions.
Through the taskbar and functions overlay you gain access to all of the functions of your computer, regardless if you rely on gaze, touch or switch input.
The Gaze Selection keyboards include the SwiftKey word prediction, which learns the way you type and the words and phrases that matter to you, constantly adapting to your personal writing style. With this knowledge, the keyboard proactively suggests what you are likely to type next. This improves your typing experience through:
