Training Type: Presentations in a Box
Learn how we can best provide AAC supports and strategies that help the emergent communicator realize their communication potential. Participants will review low and high tech AAC communication supports with the goal of moving our emergent communicators toward symbolic communication.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:
· Describe the communication abilities of an emergent communicator
· List two assessment tools that can be used to measure current communication abilities and identify opportunities for growth
· Describe two software solutions that can support an emergent communicator

Katie has been a consultant with Tobii Dynavox since 2010. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Iowa State University. Katie has had the opportunity to assist speech language pathologists in assistive technology evaluations, and really enjoys providing support and training to therapists and families in the western Minnesota area.
