Communicating with Core Vocabulary in Snap Core First

Participants will review benefits of a core vocabulary approach to expand communication and literacy skills for students. Participants will review other communication tools in Snap Core First to be used in conjunction with core vocabulary to create a robust language system. Participants will also discuss techniques for implementing core vocabulary in a classroom setting.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, participants should be able to:  

·        Discuss four language characteristics of a core word approach

·        Plan at least one core vocabulary opportunity that expands on communication

·        Describe four ways a core vocabulary approach can be implemented in the classroom
